A Voice of One calling in the Wilderness
Repent America
Has the Church fallen asleep?
Depending upon your answers to the above questions, is the answer determined by the last question - Has the Church fallen asleep? Both videos are funny, and with some help - hilarious; but still the truth lies in the shadows as to just exactly what we have come to tolerate and compromise at having fun. At what cost do we continue to tolerate and compromise our beliefs and commands of Jesus Christ - 'If you love me, you will obey me.' What does having fun, or watching something funny, have to do with obeying Jesus - I'm glad you asked. What and which of our foundational basis have changed, and why?
Why revival? 'If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.' Obviously, if God is quoted saying that statement, then in order for us to repent - we must have sinned in a manner that requires a penitent of our behavior or action. He goes on to say 'and turn from their wicked ways', another obviousness that we would have had to be doing something wrong in the first place. What could that be - 'If my people, who are called by my Name', those are those who say I'm a Christian; will humble themsleves - we've become UNhumble - that is proud, arrogant, haughty, immodest, pretentious, vain, pompous, overbearing, snobbish, conceited, superior, boastful, assuming, ostentatious, presuming and presumptuous. Now that is sin! but let us go on, there is more - 'pray and seek my face'; when was the last time you prayed to God and actively sought Him face to face (not counting the times of trial and tribulation or grace before a meal) just to thank him for today, the air you breathe, your job, your friends and family? Believe it or not, that is what the Bible is all about - God, who created this universe and world we live in; wanting to have a relationship with us! All of the Bible stories - the acts of the persons mentioned (Noah, Joseph, David, and even Job) are predicated on the fact that God wants to have a relationship with us, but the only way you can have a vital relationship with anyone (other than a dysfunctional one) is through obedience! All of God's honorable mentioned, prayed daily (even more that once a day), followed God's precepts (rules and commandments), and were diligently seeking His face several times a day. In Revelation, Jesus instructs the Apostle John to write the 7 Churches - 7 times He says 'I know you' - 7 times He points out our lack; our lack of obedience to do what He has instructed us to do on how to live pure and holy lives. Each one of His letter contains the reference, 'Let him who has ears', similiar to His teaching of the two houses - one built on the sand, the other on the rock; He concludes that teaching with, 'Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.' 'But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.' I would say to those reading, if any of this is getting through to you, if this means anything to you (Jesus is standing at the door and is knocking. If anyone hears His voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.); then I implore you to repent, turn from your wicked ways, and pray and seek His face, so He can hear, forgive you, and heal your land!
Why the Bible? Exactly, that is the cause and effect of this difference and indifference; as to even use the Bible as a tool of instruction and rememberance.
He has shown us O man, what is good! And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
What was this nation formed for and from? Who were those who put their honor, lives, and fortune at stake to make this nation what it was?
